Self-launch sessions are included in your school’s unlimited contract; schools will not be charged for these sessions.
Here’s how it works:
Students can self-launch sessions from their student homepage
Students can launch sessions up to one hour before their regular scheduled sessions
Once the feature is switched on, students will be able to self-launch Learning Objectives at any time, unless they have a scheduled session with Skye in the next hour. Live support from the Third Space Learning team is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Students select the Learning Objective to cover
Students can select from every Learning Objective in their current programme, including those already covered and yet to be covered. If they've already covered that Learning Objective, the button will say "Review Session". If they haven't, the button will say "Start Session". If you’d like students to launch specific Learning Objectives, you’ll need to let them know.
On-demand sessions begin at the start of the Learning Objective
Unlike scheduled sessions, which begin where the student left off in their previous scheduled session, on-demand sessions always begin at the start of a Learning Objective
On-demand sessions end when the Learning Objective is complete or after 45-minutes
If students complete their Learning Objective and want to move onto the next one, they can self-launch another session immediately after finishing. If they don’t finish the Learning Objective within the 45-minutes, they will pick up where they left off when they come to this Learning Objective as part of their scheduled programme of Learning Objectives.
Scheduled sessions will continue as normal during your chosen timeslot(s)
On-demand sessions do not replace your scheduled sessions. Your students’ scheduled sessions will continue as normal on your chosen day and time(s). On-demand sessions enable your students to continue working with Skye outside their regular tutoring schedule.
You can view session reports for on-demand sessions
You'll now find a new tab for 'Ad-Hoc Sessions' anywhere where you normally access session reports (in the "Sessions" tab or the "Session Reports" section in the "Reports" tab).
