With the close of the 2023/24 academic year marking the end of NTP funding, schools are expected to cover 100% of the cost of tutoring themselves next year.

We've spoken to many schools that would love to continue with tutoring but are unsure how to fund it without the NTP, however significant numbers of our schools are choosing to continue the tutoring intervention. Here’s how:

  • Funding tutoring through Pupil Premium

    • Pupil Premium is increasing by 1.7% in 2024/25 and the DfE ‘strongly encourages’ schools to continue to fund tutoring using Pupil Premium from September 2024.

  • Prioritising pupils who need it most

    • Many schools are choosing to continue tutoring but target half the number of pupils, prioritising pupils who are most in need of tutoring and those who will see the most impact.

  • Utilising discounts on offer

    • Refer a school and you’ll both receive an additional pupil place free of charge!

    • Schools who are part of a Multi-Academy Trust are eligible for a discount with Third Space Learning if multiple schools in the trust sign up.
