The lessons in our new programmes include an updated tutor adaptation framework to ensure greater learning personalisation for all pupils.

Each lesson now has multiple different structured pathways

Each pathway is guided by the pupil's initial diagnostic assessment before the lesson and enhanced tutor assessment within the session itself:

  1. For each upcoming session, the platform will clearly indicate to each pupil’s teacher and tutor if the goal for the learning objective - as identified in the diagnostic assessment - is to ‘close gaps’ or to ‘consolidate learning’

  2. Lessons now all begin with a structured tutor-led assessment which helps tutors choose the right lesson pathway:

    1. If the pupil needs it, the tutor can begin the lesson by securing prerequisite knowledge first

    2. If that’s not required, tutors can skip to the scaffolded teaching portion of the lesson

    3. If they show that they’re ready, tutors can instead go straight to the ‘your turn’ portion of the lesson, where pupils can recap and extend their knowledge

  3. Enhanced tutor training on formative assessment and adaptation will enable tutors to more effectively listen to, engage with, and make real-time adjustments for each pupil

  4. Our evaluation processes have been revised to assess and provide feedback to tutors on how effectively they are responding and adapting to the needs of pupils

These new pathways mean pupils can progress more quickly through areas where they feel more confident, while still receiving vital opportunities for recapping, reinforcing, and extending.
