All tutors must pass background checks and pass our rigorous selection process. Roughly only 2% of all applicants proceed to the Global Tutoring Programme (GTP), our bespoke training programme built by Third Space Learning’s team of education experts and former UK maths teachers in partnership with researchers at UCL's Institute of Education. Before teaching their first session, tutors must complete and pass the GTP.
This training is focused on ensuring tutors can deliver effective and engaging one to one lessons and includes teaching demonstrations, webinars and face-to-face coaching. Tutors are assessed throughout on their subject knowledge, ability to deliver student-centred teaching and familiarity with online tutoring guidelines, the UK National Curriculum and safeguarding policies. Modules include using Assessment for Learning, identifying and addressing misconceptions and dealing with disengaged pupils.
Once hired, tutors receive ongoing CPD, frequent lesson evaluations and personalised feedback to make sure they’re providing the best possible support to your pupils.
